Heversham Heaven

Auntie Elizabeth's house is at the 'r' of
Heversham
Heversham is at the 'posh' end.  Lower down is Milnthrope.  As Milnthorpe folk grew in power and population, they resented the long Sunday walk through the rain to church in Heversham.  In 1837 they built their own church.  Now the church has to service two services; the modern Church of England.

Aunt Elizabeth welcomes us again to her beautiful house in Cumbria. She continues to be wonderful in managing very painful cancer, and still led the church service on Sunday at Milnthorpe.

Cautley Spout
On a glorious, sunny bank holiday Monday, we walk along the valley past Sedbergh Castle, to Cautley Spout.

Famous Winder, once neighbour to Margaret's Uncle and Aunt.

Another Iron bridge, now part of the Dales Way.
Hazelslack Tower, near to the Fairy Steps

Fairy Steps, where apparently coffins once traveled
 to Beetham Graveyard
On top of the fairy Steps.  Elizabeth took the vertical route.

I saw this flag up a pole.
Nationalism is on the increase, but Westmoorland?
