Beckitt Bonanza

One winter weekend, our friends the Beckitt's invited us to explore London with the Watson Wanderers.
Once the dusty Zigorat called the Commonwealth Institute.
Now the stylish new design museum.

Quote of the day:
Nothing is particularly hard if you divide it into small jobs. Henry Ford
On Joanna's brother's tip off, we found Bonnington
Community Gardens in Vauxhall.  Once an old forgotten bomb site.
Now assertively claimed to the point of no return by the residents.

Britain in Bohemia, the Bonnington Square Deli.

The Oval Living Screen- planted by James. ("We came all the way
to London by train to see ivy growing up a pole!"...Ed.
(yes that's his name)

The all new City Farm.  Where Hermione practiced before becoming a vet student.

An amazing new block of flats on the Pleasure Garden. Wow.

Smiling people

Lunch stop at the extraordinary Beaconsfield Gallery, (vegan Fish Soup?)
with it's dark booming instillations.

Damion's place- I loved the staircase.

The finale- Imperial War Museum.
The rusty wreck at the bottom is a car bomb from Baghdad.
And what do you do when the Nazi's send you a V2?  Put it in a museum.

Reading recommendations from the weekend - Where Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi and The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle.
