17 reasons why not to have a cat

1) We create enough mess in our house without an additional player, who definitely will not take responsibility.
2) Another mouth to feed, and remember to feed (though here I get cats do help.)
3) More anxiety, 'have you seen the cat?  Is it in or out?
4) Scratched furniture, and it will pick the antiques I am sure, I respect cats enough to know they have taste.
5) Have you ever smelt cat food?
6) I am in favour of birds, bees and wild mice.
7) My sister and mother would suffer every time they visited.
8) Cats are ego centric and contrary.  Wait to be wakened in the night.
9) Holidays- enough said
10) Cat know how to play with your nerves.  They love to play at pretend dying on a daily basis (it's called 'chicken').
11) All pets die. Let's reduce the trauma in the world.
12) Cat's pooh; it's a well known fact.  They say only in the neighbours garden, but I do not believe it.
13) We value our neighbours friendship.
14) The vet- again, self explanatory.
15) We have rabbits at the moment- what on earth will they be thinking?
16) Your cat might be lovely, but if it is, it will surely attract some horrors.
17) The world if full of cats, and they remain special because they do not live with us!
