Even before the pangs of birth, a son will be born.
How strange, the significance of one event.
We will go through with it; the birth of a nation.
Rejoice and celebrate Jerusalem!
Drink deeply in this perfect moment.
As a baby draws comfort from its mother’s breast.
Through Jerusalem will flow a river of peace and prosperity.

Most cities in the world are built round a river. Fresh water is essential to life. The picture of our perfect home in the future Jerusalem. From the Garden of Eden, we move to the walled city. The walls speak of containment and safety. The river speaks of life and vitality. The city speaks of community and solidarity. We are made to live as a community, and for our lives to be intertwined.
